Position Overview
Project Title- ‘Shabdakalpa’ project to ereate a historical dictionary of the Bengali language. The project is being executed by the School of Cultural Texts and Records, Jadavpur University. project Co-ordinator: Professor Sukanta Chaudhuri, professor Emeritus, Jadavpur University

Required qualifications
| All posts | For two posts: l. Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks (grade B*), preferably in a Humanities discipline, Computer Science, Computer Applications or Information Technology. However, Master’s degree holders in other disciplines may be considered if found suitable in other respects. 2. Experience of computer operation in projects involving textual computing, computational linguistics, natural language processing or other relevant field. 3. How to apply
Appointments will be for one year with possibility of limited renewal. However, this project is run entirely from donations and can continue only as long as funding is available from voluntary donors. Hence appointments may have to be terminated at any time before the completion of one year. Date, time and place of interview will be notified only on this website at least seven days in advance. No notice will be sent individually to candidates. There may also be a test in Avro keyboard operation and text correction. Application forms are available at the university Information Office. Please submit the completed admission forms and relevant documents at the office of the School or Cultural Texts and Records (Fifth floor, Rabindra Bhaban, JU Main Campus). The last date of submission of the forms is 16 November, 2026.
